Destination Schools

DESTINY IS NO MATTER OF CHANCE. IT IS A MATTER OF CHOICE

    William Jennings Bryan
With our senior school expansion now well under way, we are enjoying our pupils staying with us through to their GCSE years. We also welcome new pupils to join us in Year 7 to begin their Senior School experience at Birchfield. With our 3-year GCSE programme starting in Year 9, this is also proving a popular entry point for pupils.
Birchfield School has secured meaningful relationships with many prestigious and well-regarded senior schools in the Midlands and beyond and we are keen to nurture your child and make informed recommendations for their next step, whether at 11+, 13+, future 16+ or scholarship application, to a school that is the best fit for their individual personality and strengths. We have an excellent relationship with our sister school St Dominic’s Grammar School, and can offer a supported transition into their Sixth Form for our pupils.
Over its 88-year history, Birchfield School has celebrated success for pupils at the end of their time at the school with a considerable tally of scholarships, exhibitions and awards spanning academic excellence, but also strengths in all-rounder awards, sport, music, art and drama. Many of these have followed a Common Entrance syllabus which offers excellent preparation for GCSE learning. A range of internal scholarships are available to pupils joining the school at Year 7.
