Welcome from our Headmistress

A very warm welcome to Birchfield School

From the warmth of its welcome to the beauty of its grounds, Birchfield School is a very special place, which offers boys and girls aged 4 to 16 a wealth of opportunity, allowing each individual to achieve the very highest level in their chosen area. With a reputation for academic excellence, the school prides itself upon its tailored preparation for entrance to prestigious senior schools and excels across the areas of sport, music, art and drama. An emphasis upon traditional values sits at the very heart of our ethos; where pupils become motivated, self-confident and intellectually curious learners.
We believe firmly in the value of the personal touch; forming strong relationships between our teaching staff and the pupils in their care, allowing each pupil to feel valued, relaxed and engaged in their learning. As you will see, Birchfield School prides itself upon offering so much more than a standard curriculum, with opportunities in Sport, Food Technology, Lego Innovation, Outdoor Learning, Drama, Enrichment and the Birchfield Award sitting alongside rigour in establishing strong foundations in reading, writing and number skills.
I am delighted to be overseeing the development of a brand new Birchfield senior school on our site, which will afford children the opportunity to join us at age 11 or 13, or stay on at their beloved Birchfield for a rigorous and balanced 3 year GCSE programme of study. Work continues apace to ensure we are ready for September 2021 and news of our progress will be posted on this site for you to follow.
It is indeed a privilege to be Headmistress at such a unique school and I warmly invite you to visit us and share in the atmosphere yourself.
